- Q. What type of seaweed do you have?
We have roasted, orgarnic roasted, sweet, and wasabi seaweed snacks. Our seaweed snacks are made from a type of seaweed called "Jarae-Kim". These are harvested in the west and southwest regions of South Korea. These are the seaweed that is mostly used for roasted & seasoned seaweed. Unlike other types of seaweed, these are made with perfectly matured seaweed leaves which result in a much rich flavor. It is because of these big, mature leaves that you can find irregular holes on the seaweed snacks.

Unlike other land plants, the seaweed plant has unique nutritional benefits. It has been tested that seaweed helps the overall digestive health. This happens as the seaweed's extract makes your food "high-fiber food" which improves the digestive health and overall health of an individual. Not only does it help your digestive system, but also it helps in detoxifying your body as well as increase metabolism which prevents weight gain from consumption of high-fat, high-calorie foods. Studies have also shown that seaweed enhance to functioning of the immune system, helping the body fight viral infections such as herpes.
- Q. How do you produce your seaweed? How can it be organic?
All our seasoned & roasted seaweed are harvested in the west and southwest regions of South Korea. The seaweed itself is made with perfectly matured seaweed leaves which result in a much rich flavor. These are harvested during the optimal time of harvest which are from December to February.
Also, to get organic certified, all the ingredients must be organic, the farm has to be certified organic, and the package has to be inspected.
- Q. I am concerned about trace elements of contaminants such as mercury. Is your product safe?
We manufacture our seaweed with utmost care. During the manufacturing process we check for any foreign materials three to four times before the final product is made, especially for any type of metals. Also, we regularly select random samples of the product and conduct several tests to make sure our seaweed is manufactured with the best quality. Such tests include: protein tests, color tests, moisture tests, microbiology tests, peroxide value tests, acid value tests, salinity test, texture test, and of course tests for any foreign material. You should not worry about any foreign materials on your seaweed.
- Q. Why can you not find Jayone's Seaweed in Costco?
Costco has discontinued our Jayone Roasted and Slightly Salted Seaweed. But you can always order them online at Amazon.com

- Q. Are there components of mercury in the seaweed?
The seaweed snacks were tested by a third party analyst and no mercury was detected.
- Q. Where is the place of origin for the Jayone Seaweed?
South Korea.
- Q. Are the Jayone Seaweed made up of NON-GMO material?
Yes.
- Q. With what kind of seaweed are the American market seaweed made out of?
The Sea's Gift seaweed is made of Jae-Rae seaweed.
- Q. What kind of oil is used for Sea's gift seaweed?
Non GMO Expeller Pressed Canola Oil and Non GMO Expeller Pressed Sesame Oil are used.
- Q. Can you please specify exactly which genus your seaweed (roasted 5g packs) are? Please state the exact iodine content of each packet in mcg or mg.
Our seaweed snacks are all made from a type of seaweed called "Jaerae Gim" which is specially used for roasting and seasoning. The iodine content per pack of seaweed is of 32mg/kg accounting for over 100% DV of iodine.
- Q. How do you eat the Jayone Seaweed?
You can eat the seaweed alone as a snack, or with rice and other side dishes as a meal.
- Q. Was the Jayone Seaweed affected by the Radiation?
No. Third party testing was done to show that no sign of effects done by the radiation was detected.
